The world medalist Jonathan ‘Bum Bum’ Lopez, of Humacao, is heading for another tough fight, when he faces the dangerous Edwin ‘Puto’ Rodriguez, of Juana Diaz, in combat scheduled to eight rounds in the bantamweight (118 pounds) this Saturday, June 1 at the Tomás Donés Coliseum in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The event is promoted by Fresh Productions Boxing.
 
‘Bum Bum’ Lopez (6-0, 4 KOs) had an outstanding career in amateur boxing that ended with a record of 226 wins and 12 losses. In his course, he won a bronze medal in the World Junior Boxing Championship in the city of Kiev in Ukraine, the Golden Belt in Ecuador and was national champion of Puerto Rico for seven consecutive years.
 
Rodriguez (10-5, 5 KOs), recently traveled to Tampa and defeated undefeated and favorite Santiago Arroyo, by unanimous decision and also has another important victory over the promotion prospect Miguel Cotto, Juan Carlos ‘Indio’ Camacho, who won by majority decision in exciting duel held at the Fair Complex of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
 
“We are going to sow terror this Saturday in Fajardo. I will continue undefeated. I do not think that Rodriguez can with my boxing and stuck for eight rounds. Surely there will be a real war in Fajardo because he always comes well prepared to give everything, but I am from the ‘Squad of Terror’ of Fresh Productions and we will continue to demonstrate it on Saturday with a victory. For his part, ‘Puto’ Rodriguez said that, “I hope that ‘Bum Bum’ comes well prepared because this fight will not reach the eighth round. I’ll go 110 percent ready and I do not see anything in your hands. The terror here is me and this Saturday in Fajardo, I will prove who I am. It’s going to be a war. After the victory, I will continue working hard to reach far. “
 
In another stellar fight of the boxing evening, the FECARBOX champion of the 135-pound World Boxing Council Alfredo ‘Ojo’ Santiago (11-0, 3 KOs), a native of the Dominican Republic and based in Fajardo, will defend for the second time his Scepter and will seek to add to its collection the vacant Caribbean title of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) when it measures the Mexican Diego Contreras (10-1, 6 KOs) of Coahuila de Zaragoza, in scheduled combat to 10 rounds in the maximum weight of 135 pounds.
 
Santiago, has remarkable victories by decision on the world contender Jayson Vélez of Puerto Rico, the Mexican ex-Olympian Arturo Santos Reyes and the former world champion Jonathan Víctor Barros, of Argentina.
 
Other fighters who will see action in the poster: Christian ‘Pimpi’ Lebrón (3-0, 3 KOs) of Ceiba, will face Ángel Velázquez (3-2, 2 KOs) of Caguas, in a duel agreed to six rounds in the 126 pounds. The Toabajeño Orlando Félix (12-2-1, 4 KOs) will play against Fernando Semidey (1-6) of Carolina, in 6-round bout at the maximum weight of 144 pounds. Bryan Tanco (7-0, 6 KOs – 168 lbs) from San Juan, will compete against Mexico’s Ernesto Berrospe (11-12, 6 KOs) in a six round bout at 168 pounds and debutante Angel Rosado will face Michael Estrada in a four round bout at 135 pounds.

Jonathan López y Edwin Rodríguez pronostican guerra este sábado en Fajardo

El medallista mundial Jonathan ‘Bum Bum’ López, de Humacao, se encamina a otra dura pelea, cuando se enfrente al peligroso Edwin ‘Puto’ Rodríguez, de Juana Díaz, en combate pautado a ocho asaltos en el peso gallo (118 libras) para este sábado, 1 de junio en el coliseo Tomás Donés de Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

El evento es promovido por Fresh Productions Boxing. ‘Bum Bum’ López (6-0, 4 KOs) tuvo una destacada carrera en el boxeo aficionado que terminó con marca de 226 victorias y 12 derrotas.

En su transcurso, ganó medalla de bronce en el Campeonato Mundial de Boxeo Juvenil en la cuidad de Kiev en Ucrania, el cinturón Dorado en Ecuador y fue campeón nacional de Puerto Rico por siete años consecutivos. 

Rodríguez (10-5, 5 KOs), recientemente viajó para Tampa y derrotó al invicto y favorito Santiago Arroyo, por decisión unánime y también cuenta con otra importante victoria sobre el prospecto en ascenso de Promociones Miguel Cotto, Juan Carlos ‘Indio’ Camacho, a quien venció por decisión mayoritaria en emocionante duelo celebrado en el Complejo Ferial de Ponce, Puerto Rico. 

“Vamos a sembrar el terror este sábado en Fajardo. Yo seguiré invicto. No creo que Rodríguez pueda con mi boxeo y pegada por ocho asaltos. De seguro habrá una guerra de verdad en Fajardo porque él siempre viene bien preparado a darlo todo, pero soy de la ‘Escuadra del Terror’ de Fresh Productions y lo seguiremos demostrando el sábado con una victoria. Daré mucho de que hablar. Recuerden bien mi nombre”, dijo Jonathan López 

Por su parte, ‘Puto’ Rodríguez dijo que, “Espero que ‘Bum Bum’ venga bien preparado porque esta pelea no llegará al octavo asalto. Iré al 110 por ciento listo y yo no le veo nada en sus manos. El terror aquí soy yo y este sábado en Fajardo, demostraré quien soy. Va a ser una guerra. Luego de la victoria, seguiré trabajando fuerte para llegar lejos”. 

En otra pelea estelar de la velada boxística, el campeón FECARBOX del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo de las 135 libras Alfredo ‘Ojo’ Santiago (11-0, 3 KOs), natural de la República Dominicana y radicado en Fajardo, defenderá por segunda ocasión su cetro y buscará añadir a su colección el título vacante Caribe de la Federación Internacional de Boxeo (FIB) cuando se mida al mexicano Diego Contreras (10-1, 6 KOs) de Coahuila de Zaragoza, en combate programado a 10 asaltos en el peso máximo de las 135 libras. 

Santiago, tiene victorias notables por decisión sobre el contendor mundial Jayson Vélez de Puerto Rico, el exolímpico mexicano Arturo Santos Reyes y el excampeón mundial Jonathan Víctor Barros, de Argentina.
