Fajardo Subriel Matias (13-0, 13 KOs) in the Maternillo district, will fight in an elimination for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) on Friday, July 19 at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, in the State of Maryland.
His opponent will be the also undefeated Maxim Dadashev (13-0, 11 KOs), of St. Petersburg, Russia, at combat agreed to 12 rounds in the maximum weight of 140 pounds and will feature live streaming application ‘ ESPN +’, starting at 10:00 (Eastern time).
Matias-Dadashev winner will become the mandatory challenger for the world champion of the IBF Josh Taylor, who has planned for the fall confront the World Boxing Council (WBC) World Champion Regis Prograis in unification title fight, as part of the final of the tournament called ‘World Boxing Super Series’.
“We are going against a fighter who hits with two hands and having a fighter need to put me to the test. This will be the fight that defines my future as a boxer. We had enough time to prepare ourselves and in this fight he will know that we are done. We are prepared to let the leather in the ring in order to get the victory. Puerto Rico I am of you. Thanks for your support,”said Subriel Matias, who is trained by ‘Cano’ Alex Matos and Angel Indio Guevara.
Matias, Juan Orengo promoter stated, “Subriel has the tools to win convincingly this important fight. The pride of Maternillo comes to give everything and I don’t think may Dadashev with pressure for 12 rounds. After July 19, we will be working hard to bring that fight of world title to Puerto Rico. We have to promote fights in Puerto Rico to help tourism and the economy”.
Matias, who is rated #9 in the IBF, #11 in the World Boxing Association (WBA) and #13 in the WBC, has notable wins over the reigning WBC Continental Americas Adrian star, former Fernando two-Division world title challenger SAUCEDO and the two-time Olympian Patrick López Venezuelan.
Dadashev, ranked #3 in the IBF, is a prominent amateur of his native Russia, winning 281 bouts before becoming professional under the guidance of the famous handler Egis Klimas. Dadashev has victories over former world champions Antonio DeMarco and Darleys Pérez and has won nine of his last ten fights by way of knockout.
